Patsy enjoys sharing her love of sketching and painting around the world with art classes at sea.
Working with a variety of cruise lines, she provides a programme of classes adapted to the duration and itinerary of each particular voyage. Depending on the size of the ship, classes can vary in size from 15 to 90! However, with a helpful assistant at her side, Patsy is able to give each student individual attention and encouragement, as well as giving demonstrations and tips to the class as a whole.
In general, the classes onboard are free to attend and are for all abilities. The ships usually provide an art materials pack at a modest price. Patsy brings quantities of photographic reference material from which to paint, relelvant to the sights and experiences of the voyage you are taking. The course concludes with an exhibition of work by all participating students and is always the subect of admiration and envy of other cruisers!
Whether the brochure of a cruise you are considering mentions art classes or not, Patsy's advice is to include a few watercolour and drawing materials in your luggage if you have them. With all the insipiration of the fabulous places you will visit, you will not regret it.
"During days at sea on my Caribbean Cruise, I attended art classes run by Patsy, concentrating on watercolour painting. It was so good to be taught by someone so enthusiastic about their subject and her explanations and demonstrations of techniques were first class. An exhibition of painting by the pupils was of a quite high standard and much admired by fellow cruisers"

"We joined Patsy Moore's class onboard P&O Arcadia and were soon addicted to her daily sessions. Any misgivings we had about our abilities to draw and paint were soon overcome by her enthusiastic teaching style. Patsy covered, step by step, different aspects of sketching, colour mixing and watercolour techniques. We were always encouraged to try these out in our own style. Patsy was very approachable; always positive about our attempts, however negative we were feeling. Our confidence grew and grew. The exhibition of all the work completed during the cruise was a great success. We all felt proud of our work, seeing it mounted and displayed. Watercolour painting has now become a favourite pastime"
